U.S. Air Force vet and Mr. Louisiana Joseph Lopez is facing jail in Dubai. This #Powerjournalist has the recap.
According to the Daily Mail, Lopez is facing jail in Dubai after claiming he was “drugged on a night out before being arrested by plain clothes cops” (who as stated in the article were donning ‘black ski masks’ on June 3) while on a two-week holiday there with his brother.
The article indicated that on June 2, he and his brother, Joshua, visited a popular Dubai club called Bla Bla, but the night ended in “unexpected horror.” The entire story may be read in the Daily Mail.
The brothers, Joseph and Joshua, were given bail with a travel ban on June 12; moreover, are not allowed to leave the Dubai, despite the pair not being officially charged with any offences.
Lopez hopes that he will be able to leave Dubai, continue his work in the mental health field, and be in the running for Mister USA while repping the state of Louisiana.

Mister USA is an American beauty pageant, which is held annually, and the winner goes on to represent the United States in the Mister Universe competition. It is a celebration of culture, diversity, beauty, intelligence and empowerment. They believe in the power of young leaders to make a difference in the world. It is not solely about outer beauty; it recognizes the inner beauty and intelligence of their contestants. The finals will be held on August 11, 2024 in Hollywood.
The winner of Mister USA will subsequently represent USA at “Mister Universe” in mid-September in Los Angeles.
