Actors Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus will be reprising their roles in “The Boondock Saints III.” #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.

The synopsis is: The vigilante brothers MacManus, now older, are released from prison into a dangerous new world, facing divergent views on how to continue their crusade.

Flanery and Reedus will portray Connor and Murphy MacManus respectively. There is a search for a new director since Troy Duffy will be stepping aside from directing this film.

Last month, Thunder Road Films, Dragonfly Films and Impossible Dream Entertainment announced a “reimagining” of the franchise, with Reedus and Flanery reprising their roles and serving as executive producers. This movie franchise is about the fraternal twin Irish brothers who raise holy hell to rid their Boston hometown of all criminals.

According to an article in Deadline, the producers include Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee; and Dragonfly’s Todd Myers and Peter D. Graves, along with Shaun Redick and Yvette Yates Redick for Impossible Dream Entertainment. Troy Duffy and Don Carmody also produce. Reedus, Flanery, Charlie Morrison, and JoAnne Colonna will be executive producers, along with Nat McCormick.

Actor and filmmaker Sean Patrick Flanery also remarked in a statement to Deadline, “Basil and Todd are the perfect partners to bust the brothers out of prison. With Basil and Todd at the helm, this will be the best Saints yet. So now it’s time for the brothers to break out the pea coats, re-load, and get back to work.”
