The scoop shop Salt & Straw is situated in the iconic neighborhood of Glendale, which is known for its rich history and surrounded by picturesque mountains, foothills and trails. It is conveniently located in the Americana at Brand destination shopping mall, next to the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and near popular restaurants Shake Shack and Din Thai Fung. Salt & Straw is expanding its California presence in this vibrant community.
This journalist got the Chocolate Gooey Brownie cone, along with Peanut Butter Brittle Caramel Fudge with rainbow sprinkles drizzled on top. It was the quintessential snack meal.
Another savory delight is the Marionberry Coconut Sherbet, which is comprised of coconut cream with some sugar and tree nuts. This is a creamy and refreshing flavor, especially during the summer season.
Overall, Salt & Straw is worth checking out at the Americana at the Brand area. There is always a different flavor of ice cream to try at each visit (due to its elaborate menu of offerings). It garners two thumbs up.
