Joanne Trattoria hosted its first-ever Networking night in the Upper West Side. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the recap.

Gabby Gabriel made the opening remarks and introduced her business partner Joe Germanotta, who is the father of global music star Lady Gaga, as well as an entrepreneur, businessman and philanthropist in his own right. She went on to share Germanotta’s background and his education. She shared that the restaurant was named after his late sister, Joanne, who passed away from lupus when she was 19 (and Joe was 17). “His sister’s death had a tremendous impact on his life, and it also had an influence across his family,” Gabriel acknowledged.

She revealed that Germanotta went to school for Hospitality Business and that’s where he learned all his “hospitality skills” to make everyone feel at home like they do at Joanne’s. “This is actually the 15th year of Joanne being in business,” Gabriel revealed. “It isn’t easy for a New York restaurant to last that long. Before Joe started Joanne, he was a long-term entrepreneur. He brought wifi to hotels, so he’s a smart guy and a great father.”

“I would argue that Joe is one of the world’s best fathers,” Gabriel underscored. “The measure of a father’s success is how successful their children are.”

“Thanks for joining us today,” Gabriel said, effusively. “Let’s give it up for one of the world’s coolest people: Joe Germanotta.”

Germanotta went on to take questions from the people that gathered, and everybody participated in an ice breaker activity, where they introduced themselves and what they do, and then they mingled with each other.

On Saturday, March 8th, Joanne Trattoria will be hosting “An Evening with Tierney,” the Lady Gaga and Amy Winehouse impersonator at 8 p.m. and it will be followed by a Saturday Night Live viewing party in honor of Gaga’s forthcoming appearance on SNL.
