PS5 release date LIVE: UK stock, where to buy, launch games and PlayStation 5 review
PS5 controller and console
PS5 pre-order customers are counting down to the release of the next-gen PlayStation in the UK.
Out now in the US, the PlayStation 5 has a November 19 in the UK, Europe and other parts of the world.
There are two versions of the new console, including a model with a disc drive, and another slightly more expensive unit without.
Lucky pre-order customers can expect 4K visuals, speedy loading times and backwards compatibility with the PS4.
Then there’s the new DualSense controller, which is arguably the best thing about the device. Wonderfully highlighted by launch title Astro’s Playroom, the controller features advanced haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for greater immersion.
Express Online awarded the console the full 5-stars, praising the controller, dashboard and launch line-up of games.
“From the launch line-up to the loading times, DualSense to the dashboard, the PS5 is a fresh and exciting new console that truly feels like a next-gen device,” reads the Express Online review. You can read the full review by clicking the link below.
Of course, what everybody wants to know is if the PS5 console will be back in stock on launch day. And the good news is that yes it will.
GAME has confirmed plans to re-stock the PlayStation 5 when it goes on sale in the UK.
In an email sent to customers, the UK retailer said that the units will be available to order online on November 19.
“PS5 console ordering update: The PS5 console will be made available to order online only on launch day, Thursday 19th November,” reads a GAME email.
“Units will not be available for in-store purchase, please continue to check back online for further updates.”
The PS5 will also be available at Amazon, where reports suggest it will go on sale at 12pm GMT.
Currys has confirmed plans to stock the PS5 online from 9am GMT UK time on November 19.
“Please remember, the PS5 console will be available to order ONLINE ONLY from 9am tomorrow,” reads a Currys post. “No units will be available for in-store purchase on Thursday 19th November, please continue to check back online for further updates.”
Express Online will update this post when any additional units potentially go on sale. Good luck.
Of course, there are also one or two slightly unorthodox ways to grab a PS5 on launch day.
BT and EE customers can grab a PlayStation 5 console through their MyBT and EE’s Add to Plan accounts.
“BT broadband customers can order their PS5, through their MyBT account. Meanwhile, existing EE pay monthly mobile customers will also be able to order a console and add the cost to their price plan, split over 11 interest-free instalments with EE’s Add to Plan service,” BT explains.
Needless to say, these deals won’t be around for very long, so you’ll need to be quick if you want to grab a PS5 at launch.
If you secure a PS5 on launch day, or have already successfully pre-ordered the console, then there are around 30 games available at launch – not to mention all those backwards compatible PS4 games.

“In addition, four other Underground stations across London have been taken over by some of the next generation’s most loved games, featuring scenery and characters from fan favourite franchises.”
