Mike Manning has done some of the best acting work in his career in this last season of “The Bay,” for which he scored a 2024 Daytime Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Daytime Drama Series.” #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the recap.
“The Bay” earned five 2024 Daytime Emmy nominations, including “Outstanding Drama Series,” “Outstanding Directing Team,” and “Outstanding Writing Team.” Veteran actor A Martinez (who plays Nardo Ramos) is also nominated for “Outstanding Supporting Actor” alongside Manning.
Manning portrays Caleb McKinnon in the 23-time Emmy award-winning daytime drama series “The Bay”… Manning layered his emotions well and he showcases many sides of his artistry as a storyteller… He had some vulnerable scenes opposite his luminous acting partner Eric Nelsen (who plays Daniel Garrett).
At the same time, he had some painful and witty scenes that were filmed in Italy (that were displayed in flashbacks), where the audience could sympathize and empathize with his character.
The Verdict
Overall, Mike Manning’s acting ran the gamut, and he did so in a raw, natural fashion (without overacting). In many instances, he was the voice of reason for Daniel and his pillar of comfort. This was an important story that needed to be told, and Manning did so with honesty and conviction (while doing the script justice).
For anybody who has any doubt, all they need to do is go back and #bingethebay. Mike Manning deserves to be commended for a job well done, especially for being able to move his fans and viewers on an emotional level. Bravo.
