Nathan Tsuji of Positive Impact Movement chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about representing the state of Washington in the 2025 Mister USA competition.

2025 Mister USA competition

On competing for Mister USA, he exclaimed, “It is very exciting. It is definitely worth trying, for sure. It is something I haven’t done before, and that is always exciting.”

“I want to help liberate people in their bodies so their minds can be free to find that place that is home,” he noted. “My goal is to help increase people’s mobility and comfortability in their own bodies so that they can find those happy places, which put their mental health in a better place.”

Advocacy for Mister USA

Regarding his advocacy for Mister USA, Tsuji shared, “I want to use the platform and the exposure that I can get there to try to promote my fitness app, and the goal is not to help extremely fit people. Mainly what I want to focus on is to help people find a home. That is a very broad topic but it’s very poignant.”

Positive Impact Movement Festival in Las Vegas

Tsuji is excited about the Positive Impact Movement Festival later this week in Las Vegas from April 11th to the 13th. “It is going to be so much fun,” he hinted.  “When you really break it down, the higher level you get, the time between getting new skills just gets longer and longer and longer. You don’t have the breakthroughs that you have in the beginning.”

“When I do the festival, my favorite part about it is being able to facilitate that inspiration and that joy for people and create an environment where they can learn and grow,” Tsuji said.

Repping the state of Washington

On representing the state of Washington, he said, “I have a good connection to Washington. I have so much history with Washington.”

“Be proud of what you’ve earned and be grateful for what you’ve been given,” he said. “Real pride and real sense of self comes from things that you’ve built, earned, or created on your own. If you are deriving your pride from something you didn’t create, you are not going to be as fulfilled, so be proud of what you’ve earned and be grateful for what you’ve been given,” he explained.

“Also, know your limits but never accept them, and like my mom used to say ,‘Go Live’,” he noted.

“My goal is to share what I have with everybody and learn as much as I can from everybody who is there,” he acknowledged.

“Sportsmanship is the same as humanity,” he admitted. “Just be a good person; that is what everything boils down to. It’s not that hard.”

Stage of his life

On the title of the current chapter of his life, he revealed, “Centered, balanced and moving forward.”

“This year is definitely all about growing, moving forward and trying new things, and seeing where this little life of mine will take me,” he said. “With the exception of going to the Olympics, I’ve achieved ever goal that my little inner self had.”

“This year is about finding what my next goals are so that I can reach for them,” he said. “Mister USA is a goal that I didn’t know I would have when I was younger, but it’s a goal that I have now. I will push and see what we can do and do the best to make it happen. I am really excited about it.”

Success

Regarding his definition of the word success, Tsuji remarked, “Success is living the life you love. For me, that still rings true. Success is when you feel fulfilled from the fruits of the work that you’ve been doing, and you can quantifiably see how much better you’ve been getting, and you don’t question it.”
