On December 22nd, Patrick Callahan (who represented Ireland) was crowned the first-ever Mister Universe in Los Angeles, California. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the recap.
Jino Cabrera serves as CEO and president of the Mister Universe organization and Mister USA. The Mister Universe finals were held at The Fonda Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.
The 13 Mister Universe finalists were judged via the following criteria: private interviews with the judges (prior to the finale behind closed doors), swimwear, formalwear, and a live Q & A session with the judges.
Particularly impressive about “Mister Ireland” Patrick Callahan is an advocate of men’s mental health, which is a significant, timely and relevant topic in this digital age from a global standpoint.
The first runner-up was Mister USA (Cormac Murphy) in 2nd place, the second runner-up was Mister Indonesia (Yusuf Hendratno) in 3d place, the third runner-up was Mister Dominican Republic (Xavier Rodriguez) in 4th place, and the fourth runner-up was Mister Philippines (Markki Stroem) rounding out the Top 5.
Finalists Mister Italy (Matteo Dall’Osto) and Mister Croatia (Adam Eemrick) also made the Top 7.
The remaining talented finalists were from Brazil (Guilherme Werner Wamzer), South Africa (Ntando Lurwengu), Canada (Matt Koelen), Venezuela (Manuel Alejandro Polanco), Slovakia (Chris Bednarik), Colombia (Andres Castellini), all of which are winners in their own right.
This past September, Cormac Murphy was crowned the first-ever Mister USA winner, and he went on to represent the United States in the Mister Universe competition.
Callahan nailed his interview question in the Q & A segment of the competition. When asked if he had the power to change one law in the country of Ireland, Callahan responded, “If I had the power to change one law in my country, it would one that would encourage diversity, equity, and inclusion… one that could promote equal opportunities for all.”
Congratulations again once again to Patrick Callahan on winning the “Mister Universe” title, and to all of the finalists because they are all winners in their own right.
