Olympic gold medalist swimmer Michael Andrew has a major reason to be proud. Andrew won the men’s 50 meter freestyle race at the 2024 TYR Pro Swim Series in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Andrew clocked 21.87 seconds leaving Jordan Crooks in second place and Santo Condorelli in third place.
Regarding this race, Andrew remarked, “I feel like it was really in the last 15 meters that I hit my stride. We’ve been working on a lot of new things. I think it’s hard to come to a (TYR) Pro Series like this and not overthink, but it’s good. It’s good training and racing. I’m happy with the time, but I want to be a lot faster. I’m happy, and it’s on to the next one.”
Earlier in the week, this past Thursday, Andrew finished in second place in the men’s 100 meter breaststroke race with a time of 1:00.41 right behind Nic Fink who won with a time of 1:00.36.
Michael Andrew is coached by his father Peter Andrew. He is training hard to punch his ticket to the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris, in an effort to represent Team USA.
