Colton Kluck chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about representing the state of North Dakota in the 2024 Mister USA competition.
2024 Mister USA
Mister USA is an American beauty pageant, which is held annually, and the winner goes on to represent the United States in the Mister Universe competition. It is a celebration of culture, diversity, beauty, intelligence and empowerment. They believe in the power of young leaders to make a difference in the world. It is not solely about outer beauty; it recognizes the inner beauty and intelligence of their contestants. The finals will be held on August 31, 2024 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel Los Angeles in Hollywood.
“It feels great to be part of Mister USA,” he said. “I never thought I would be here I grew up with a lot of body dysmorphia, and I’m just blessed to be part of this.”
Repping North Dakota
On representing the state of North Dakota, he remarked, “I feel honored to be representing my home state that built me into the man I am today.”
Daily inspirations
On his daily inspirations, he said, “I would have to say what inspires me every day is my friends and family plus all my fans I strive to be a better human being every day for them and I got some big dreams that I’m moving forward for.”
The digital age
On being a part of the digital age, he said, “I absolutely love it as I said I grew up with a lot of self-hatred and I spent my whole life trying to find my flaws from everyone and try to be this perfect person and it started to make it worse so I figured I would just quit or embrace who I am, so l decided to just show off my flaws and I’ve never felt better about my self obviously there is still a lot I have to work on but its coming along.”
Defining moments in life
On his defining moments in life, he said, “Well, I grew up in a family of 16… a mom and dad and 13 siblings and I think that really helped me become who I am.”
Advice for young and aspiring models and bodybuilders
For young and emerging bodybuilders and models, he said, “Well, if there was something I could have told myself back when I started there’s never going to be a perfect time to start. You just have to jump in with both feet and there’s going to be a lot of people saying you can’t do it and your going to have a lot of haters. You just have to block them out; if this is something you want, you just have to go for it.”
Future plans
On his future plans, he shared, “Well, I hope to move around for a couple years, just trying to find myself, and hoping to find a soulmate to start a family on the way.”
Success
Regarding his definition of success, Kluck said, “Success can mean a lot… For me, it means finding happiness. I don’t care if I never become wealthy but if I can find someone to spent the rest of my life with, and I’m truly happy, that is success to me.”
Closing thoughts on Mister USA
He concluded about Mister USA, “I am very exited to see who becomes the first-ever Mister USA. I hope it will be me, but I’m here for a great time, making great memories while trying to take in this amazing opportunity and experience.”
