Alek Maximus is Mr. South Carolina in the 2024 Mister USA competition. He chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about his latest endeavors.
Background on Mister USA
Mister USA is an American beauty pageant, which is held annually, and the winner goes on to represent the United States in the Mister Universe competition. It is a celebration of culture, diversity, beauty, intelligence and empowerment. They believe in the power of young leaders to make a difference in the world. It is not solely about outer beauty; it recognizes the inner beauty and intelligence of their contestants. It will be held on August 11, 2024 in Hollywood. The winner of Mister USA will subsequently represent USA in the “Mister Universe” competition in mid-September.
Maximus is an entrepreneur, a natural professional champion bodybuilder in classic, bodybuilding, and men’s physique who competed in 10 bodybuilding shows.
Repping South Carolina
On repping South Carolina in Mister USA, he said, “It feels surreal. I am grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of something that helps make the world a better place. It feels like a dream to be a part of something bigger than myself.”
He opened up about his love for the state of South Carolina. “I’m ecstatic… I love nature, taking nature walks, hiking and biking through the forest and mountains. I want to share that experience with others and bring that vibe to the Mister USA,” he said.
Daily motivations
Regarding his daily motivations, he said, “My biggest motivator for everyday would be living out my purpose helping others be healthier, stronger and happier in their fitness life journey.”
Future plans
On his future plans, he shared, “I plan on opening my own gym in South Carolina, having a team of athletes to prep for bodybuilding shows and making my brand Boldbodybuilding, a seller that brings confidence in men and women in their bodies.”
When asked where he sees himself in the next five years, he revealed,, “I see myself helping millions of younger and older men and women living a healthier lifestyle, making the world a better place. Having my own bodybuilding show in the town of South Carolina promoting health and fitness. Having a wife and a home.”
Favorite mottos to live by
His favorite motto to live by is the following by Abraham Lincoln: “I walk slowly but I never walk backward.” “Also, be stronger than your excuses.” “Life is too short to spend it at war with yourself.” “Live simply, Love deeply, care genuinely, speak kindly.”
Success
On his definition of the word success, he said, “Changing lives around you whether its physical or mental not necessarily financially is a success more valuable than money. If you ignite the person to change for the better than that is the definition of success. That I can live an example that others would like to follow it is a form of what success is.”
He continued, “I’m doing what I love to do as my job helping others, that is success even if I am not making as much as I should be. That does not define my success. If you have helped someone, if you have a roof over your head and can invite others for dinner and provide an experience and have affectionate conversation that is another form of success.”
“There are different levels of success and it comes in other forms. One thing they all have in common, they all have small stepping stones, they all go through failure success and that is what success is composed of mistakes converted into correction,” he added.
Closing thoughts on the 2024 Mister USA competition
Maximus remarked about Mister USA, “It’s a fun, exciting and thriving show that is full of life making the world a better place. Finding the right leader to help the youth and older men follow an example on the way to live a good life that is bringing people closer to love, success and life.”
“It looks for not just the appearance of an individual but someone that has good motives in their heart. I want people to experience the full beauty and wisdom of Mister USA and have the understanding of what it is truly about,” he noted.
“To feel inspired after reading and watching the journey of 2024 Mister USA and of its contestants stories and ups and downs of getting there. I want people to leave with an unforgettable experience that changes their life for the best,” he exclaimed.
