Mario Lopez has several reasons to be proud. He just celebrated his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and his 51st birthday. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.
Lopez became a household name thanks to his portrayal of A.C. Slater on the hit ’90s teen TV series “Saved By The Bell.”
More recently, Lopez starred in, as well as serves as a producer on the wildly popular “Saved By The Bell” reboot on Peacock. “I absolutely love what I do. I love this business,” he exclaimed. “I recognize that, and I appreciate that. I am incredibly blessed to be doing this all this time.”
In his gracious acceptance speech, Lopez said effusively, “This is the best birthday ever… I’ve had my shares of wins along the way and losses. I wouldn’t change anything. I’ve loved every second of it.”
“It’s a really special moment, and even more special that I get to share it with my family. I am beyond grateful,” he said, prior to acknowledging his parents and all of his family members for being with him on his journey.
Being an “Access Hollywood” host and TV personality, his “Access Hollywood” family paid a moving tribute to his accomplishments. “Thank you for the great recap my #Access family! What a surreal, emotional & fun filled day that I’ll replay over and over,” he remarked.
“Not too bad for a Mexican kid from Chula Vista,” he reflected. “I’m riding these elated feelings into the weekend! Thanks again to everyone who made this possible,” he acknowledged.
Good friend and fellow actor and entertainer Mark Wahlberg was there to celebrate this special occasion with Lopez, and ironically enough, the ceremony took place in front of a Wahlburgers restaurant on Hollywood Blvd (and across the street from the TCL Chinese Theatre).
On behalf of the birthday wishes (for birthday No. 51), he expressed to his dedicated fans and followers, “I’m so grateful for all the birthday love y’all sent my way! Much appreciated.”
“My whole theory on getting older is if you start slowing down, that’s when you start dying. Keep moving, keep punching, and attack this year as vigorous and veracious I did the other 51 years. I want to wish everyone a great day. God Bless,” he stated in a social media post.
“Now, at 51 years old, what I love more than anything, is being a dad,” Lopez revealed. “I’ve had so many blessings in my life but none bigger than my wife Courtney. I love you… thank you for everything,” he expressed and he went on to thank her for their three kids.
Mario Lopez stars opposite his wife, Courtney Lopez, in the forthcoming Great American Family holiday film “Once Upon a Christmas Wish,” which will premiere on Saturday, December 7th.
