Emmy-nominated actress Marci Miller (“Days of Our Lives” fame) is doing the play “Helper” in Louisville, Kentucky. #Powerjournalist has the scoop.
“Helper,” by Patrick Tovatt, is a play in two acts, and the actress noted that it deals with “really important things.” It is directed by Steve Woodring.
It is set in a coffee shop in Helper, Utah, where a chance encounter turns deadly as festering cultural resentments, racism, and the stresses of single parenthood collide and erupt in sudden, inexplicable gun violence. “Three lives and an entire community are left in its wake as the past meets the present, and an uncertain future awaits in this great new play by Emmy nominee Patrick Tovatt,” Miller posted on her social media.
“We’re nearly funded, but would like to raise a tad more just so we can give this thing the wings it deserves while making some meaningful donations along the way. Please consider being a part of the conversation whether purchasing a ticket (if in the area) or making a donation at the GoFundMe link in my profile. Much love,” she elaborated in her post.
