The first Annual Legendary Festival is coming to Kalamata this summer to take us on a trip on the footpath of music on a thrilling musical stage. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.
The Legendary Festival is the inspired initiative of a devoted team of Greeks in the diaspora living In the United States in the music and performing arts world who have kept alive their love of Greece. JD Sarantakos (the brother of superstar magician Criss Angel) and Peter Xanthos put their skills and resources together, along with a team of highly devoted associates in the US and Greece and after almost two years of collaboration founded Spartan Global Entertainment.
Their desire is to reconnect with Greece, Messenia and Laconia, their places of origin, their families, and to socialize with the local communities and to offer to these in a frank and honest manner part of the profits to be distributed to philanthropic efforts of the region and to volunteer organizations who helped organize the Legendary Festival to be a thrilling meeting of the best possible talent. In the two-day Legendary Festival on the 18th and 19th of August 2023 at the Traffic Training Park in Kalamata we will deliver to our audience an unforgettable Messinian gathering experience of two worlds.
On Friday August 18th on the same stage will appear the school band of the Kalamata School of Music EN PSYCHRO (in cold blood) and our Kalamata T.R.I.O. Rock Band, who will pass the baton to MPLE, the number one band in Greece. Following will be a first-time performance in Greece by the American innovative tribute band playing the music of the thrilling LED ZEPPELIN, Judgement Day, performing time travelers, like the June dust, on top of Kashmir they will lead us to the stairway to heaven among many other hits.
On Saturday August 19th the curtain will open for the INNUENDOS, the unique Greek group and tribute band of the thrilling QUEEN, to be followed by our very own Greek alternative band the, The Oulaloum Band. In a more popular musical footpath, we will present our beloved Bit yia Bit Band followed by our beloved Pantelis Thalassinos with his orchestra who will entertain us with our favorite popular songs from classic movies of the thrilling Greek Artists Theodorakis, Hadzidaki, Xarchakou, Zampeta, Hioti and a program from Manoli Androulidaki.
For both evenings our master of ceremonies will be the famous Greek American DJ George Andreakos who will for the first time present his international sounds in Greece.
Also of Greek descent, executive chef Harris Dounelis who inspired by the local products of the Messinian earth will for the first time in Greece and America implement his fusion recipes.
