The 2025 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards were held on Sunday, February 23rd, and the late “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor was remembered in the “In Memoriam” segment.

He was known for his portrayal of Brando Corbin on the hit ABC daytime drama “General Hospital.” He was memorialized alongside such soap opera actors as Wayne Northrop of “Days of Our Lives” and “Dynasty” (the husband of Lynn Herring), Drake Hogestyn (“Days of Our Lives”) , and Leslie Charleson (who played Monica Quartermaine on “General Hospital” for over 45 years).

Wactor was murdered on Saturday, May 25th in Downtown Los Angeles (Hope Street) after an attempted catalytic converter theft incident.

What made this memoriam portion of the show even more poignant and special this year was that they used the Oscar-nominated song “The Journey,” which was penned by 16-time Oscar nominee Diane Warren, and performed by H.E.R. It was a very fitting and moving choice for this somber occasion.

On May 3rd and 4th, Wactor will be memorialized at the “Samantha’s Friends: Winter Wonderland” event at Lakewood Ranch, Florida.
