Jonathan Garces is a man of many talents: Musclemania Young Champion, fitness trainer, digital content creator, social influencer, and Australian performer. He chatted with True Hollywood Talk’s Markos Papadatos about his latest endeavors.
On winning Musclemania, he said, “That felt really good. I am going to start preparing for the next competition in the United States. I hope to go compete in Miami in June.”
Originally from Colombia, he resides in Sydney, Australia, and performs for “Magic Men Australia,” which is one of the top male revues in Australia. “This is the biggest company of male revue entertainment in Australia. Honestly, I can’t believe I am a part of it,” he said.
“I am always trying to take my performance to the next level,” he admitted about “Magic Men Australia.” “The owner, Carlos, really liked my performance, so I started working with those guys. It’s a big family and we support each other. It’s the best job I’ve ever had in my life. It’s honesty the best. Carlos is the best boss, and he is always there to support us.”
Garces opened up about being a performer, fitness professional, and content creator in the digital age. “I work really hard on my social media. I want to create a big social media channel and I want to post each day and make videos for TikTok and Instagram. Social media helps me in all that I do in life. It’s a massive part of everything I’ve done.”
For young and aspiring performers and content creators, he said, “You need to think about your goals every day, and you need to set time limits for each. You need to prepare everything, you need to work every day, and you need to schedule what you are going to do each day. That’s what I did. I worked in construction and then I went to the gym, and then, I was practicing in the mirror in the gym.”
Regarding his daily motivations, Garces said, “I came from Colombia, and everything there is so different. It’s really hard to make money and save money. I came from a really poor family and a medium-class family and my goal has always been to give the best life possible to my mom, she deserves the best.”
“My family motivates me a lot and so do the people on social media when they are moved by my posts and stories in a positive manner,” he said.
“I want to give my mom the best life ever, and each day, that’s what motivates me. I always have my mother in the back of my mind in everything that I do. My mom didn’t have the opportunity to travel before I came here, so I started giving her little trips here and there. My mom is my main focus,” he added.
On the title of the current chapter of his life, he revealed, “Moving Forward Step by Step.”
“I still have a lot of things to do. I have a lot of things in mind. My focus is to get to the United States,” he said.
He shared that he loves to play soccer. “When I was in Colombia, I used to play soccer, and my dream was to be a professional soccer player,” he said.
In swimming, he listed the “butterfly” as his personal favorite stroke in the sport.
Garces defined the word success simply as “progress.” “Every day, I try to be in a better position than I was yesterday,” he said. “Success means progressing in every aspect of my life. Of course, money is important and my body is getting better. Also, if my mom is proud each time, then that’s success to me.”
For fans and supporters, Garces concluded, “There are still a lot of things coming up so stay tuned. I have a lot of goals each day. I want to be the best performer I can possibly be.”
