Out: The term ‘Middle Aged Women’

In: The term: ‘Women in Our Prime’

Are you a woman in your Prime who has been dreaming of starting your own business, but you

are not quite sure if you can do it? Perhaps a little imposter syndrome or wobbly

self-confidence holding you back? Well, I’m here to help you obliterate that glass ceiling

and unleash your full potential as an entrepreneur!

Did you know that women in their Prime, are more ambitious, healthier, and wealthier than ever

before? And, with the power of life experience behind us, the future is bright: 62% of female business owners are between 40 and 59 years old.

This has NOT always been the case. In 1972, the year I was born —female entrepreneurship

was first mentioned in the U.S. Census. At that time there were 400,000 businesses owned

by women. Today, there are more than 13 million women-owned businesses and 1,817

new businesses each day.

So, if you are a woman in your Prime, overflowing with ideas, time and resources, (as many of

us are), here are some essentials to get you started on your entrepreneurial journey:

Your starter kit:

  1. Mindset Matters Most

As an entrepreneur or small business owner, you can have a bulletproof business plan, funding,

and resources, but without a success mindset, your idea simply won’t work. A success mindset means having the confidence, tenacity, and positivity to keep you going.

It’s about blocking out negative thoughts and toxicity and fueling success. So, if you want to break that glass ceiling, start with your mindset.

Pro Tip: My favorite mindset tool is ‘Daily Affirmations’

More than just warm and fuzzy words, positive affirmations enhance our belief in our personal

power and make us less susceptible to threats from outside us. Research also shows that

affirmations can improve our health, relationships, and our ability to learn. The most

effective affirmations are short, truthful and easy to remember. Examples:

“I am driven by passion and purpose.”

“There are no limits to what I can achieve.”

“Money flows effortlessly to me.

  1. Organic Marketing, (no dirt involved)

You can have the best product or service in the world, but if people don’t know about it, it will

fail to launch. That is where my specialty — Organic Marketing comes in. OM is key for

small businesses and entrepreneurs — it’s low cost, requires savvy thinking and hustle, and

is filled with potential.

Think: social media posts, a beautiful website that converts visitors to buyers, and even your

very own YouTube Channel. Identifying opportunities that others don’t and leveraging them to get the word out about your business is crucial. With the right marketing tactics and strategies, your business can see hockey stick growth and success.

  1. Curate Your Five

We are the sum of the five people we spend the most time with.

Even as a solo-preneur you will do best to have some sort of team — even an informal one to brainstorm and bounce ideas off. Choose these people wisely. Make sure that they want to see you succeed. This does not mean ‘yes’ people — but rather people who will challenge your thinking, offer valuable feedback, and cheer for your victories.

If we want to go fast, go alone. If we want to go far, go together.

Conclusion:

It’s time for women in their Prime to shatter that glass ceiling and achieve their goals. With a success mindset, organic marketing tools, and your dream team, there’s no reason why you can’t smash your potential and achieve your dreams. This often untapped potential is exactly why I have made it my mission to help women and their minorities succeed in entrepreneurship by offering them the know-how, resources, coaching, and mentorship they need.  So, what are you waiting for? It’s time to unleash your full potential and show the world what you’re made of!
