Every year just before the Academy Awards environmentally conscious celebrities attend the Global Green USA Pre-Oscar party. This year the party was held on February 22, 2017. Oliver Stone, Jeff Bridges, Ed O’Neill, Orlando Bloom, Jane Fonda and Ed Begley Jr. walked the green carpet and talked about what we can do to preserve our planet’s resources.
This year Global Green honored David Archambualt, II with an award. Archambualt is the Chariman the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. The Tribe is known for their efforts to halt the Dakota Pipeline construction. During his acceptance speech, a representative for Archambualt humbly thanked Global Green for the award and thanked the people who participated in the national movement to make the world aware of what’s really going in North Dakota.
Accompanying Jeff Bridges was Dianna Cohen, CEO and Co-Founder of the Plastic Pollution Coalition. Cohen talked about the waste of plastic bottles and plastic bags in the bottled water and grocery industries. Cohen told True Hollywood Talk that the most important thing we can all do to help the environment would be to “Refuse Single Use and Disposable Plastics”. The Plastic Pollution Coalition has a mission is to stop plastic pollution and its toxic impact on humans, animals, and the environment.
At the end of the night singer Taylor Dayne entertained the audience with her popular songs and got the audience dancing and singing.
