Emmy winner Eric Nelsen (“1883”) will star in a new western film “Cottonmouth.” #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.
Deadline made the official announcement. The movie entered production last week in Oklahoma after it received a SAG interim agreement.
Aside from Eric Nelsen, it will star Martin Sensmeier (“Westworld”), Ron Perlman (“Hellboy”), Esai Morales (“Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning”), Jonathan Sadowski (“Chernobyl Diaries”), Alyssa Wapanatâhk (“Peter Pan & Wendy”), James Landry Hébert (“1883”), and Kimberly Guerrero (“The Glorias”).
Brock Harris (“Wild Game”) will serve as a director, from a screenplay that he wrote with Jared Bonner.
The synopsis is: The film follows friends Ed and Frank (Sensmeier and Sadowski) who become brutal enemies in Oklahoma frontier territory when a rivalry develops over a woman (Wapanatâhk) who is set to inherit a prominent saloon. It is set in 1895.
After a bounty hunter (Nelsen) makes Ed disappear to a tortuous prison run by a sinister warden (Perlman), he must learn the ways of an outlaw from a prison-mate (Morales) to escape and exact his revenge.
“Cottonmouth” is being produced by Randy Wayne and Talia Bella under their production company Rebellium Films, in association with Lucky Number 8 Productions, Watch the Footage Productions, and Concourse Media alongside executive producer Vance Howard.
