Electric Zoo is returning to Randall’s Island Park in 2023

Electric Zoo, the globally renowned music festival that has electrified New York City every Labor Day Weekend for the past 14 years, is excited to announce its genre-defying lineup and innovative stage curators for its highly anticipated 2023 edition. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.

From September 1-3, Randall’s Island Park will once again be transformed into a sonic wonderland, showcasing a diverse array of artists who push the boundaries of their respective genres across five stages. This year, Electric Zoo announces its Hyperspace theme, expands its footprint with new stage build-outs, premieres artist branded world and festival debuts, and integrates AI into nearly every aspect of the festival, promising an even more exhilarating experience for festival-goers.

We can’t wait to welcome the most vibrant and energetic crowd yet this Labor Day Weekend to party together with the Electric Zoo community, artists, industry players, and festival travelers from around the world, forging an unparalleled celebration in the heart of New York City.”

The lineup for Electric Zoo is a star-studded affair, featuring interstellar performances and exciting collaborations. GRiZ, the multi-talented musician, is set to take the stage for three unique sets throughout the weekend, including a headlining live set, chasing the golden hour sunset set, and an epic B2B with Zeds Dead. In an unprecedented moment, electronic music legends Deadmau5 and Kaskade will join forces for the New York City debut of Kx5, creating a thrilling spectacle that fans won’t want to miss. Kaskade will also treat fans to a special sunset set taking the crowd on a nostalgic journey through his mesmerizing discography. Joining these iconic acts are chart-toppers such as Galantis, Marshmello,  The Chainsmokers, and Gryffin, whose anthems have dominated airwaves and festival stages worldwide.

Electric Zoo prides itself on serving an eclectic musical palette, and this year is no exception. The festival will feature The Blessed Madonna, known for her versatile sets that seamlessly blend multiple genres, eras, and cultures. Tech house enthusiasts will be treated to captivating performances from the likes of Mau P, Sam Divine, The Desert Hearts Crew, Eli Brown, Francis Mercier, HoneyLuv, and an array of other talented artists. Skream, Gioli & Assia, Dubfire, Franky Wah, and J. Worra will transport fans into the realms of deeper and more abstract house grooves.

For fans of hard-hitting bass music, Electric Zoo has assembled a lineup with renowned acts such as Peekaboo, Alison Wonderland, Boogie T, Canabliss, Moore Kismet, Big Gigantic, NGHTMRE, and Rusko. For those seeking melodic and emotive journeys, Said the Sky, TELYKast, Kasbo, and 3LAU will provide the perfect soundtrack to transcend into a world of musical bliss.

This year sees the festival expanding its footprint to accommodate its growing popularity. It is here that the brand-new “MegaMirage” stage is being introduced. MegaMirage promises to be a larger-than-life experience, pushing the boundaries of immersive production and audiovisual production and delivering mind-blowing performances that will leave attendees in awe.

To elevate the festival experience further, Electric Zoo has enlisted an incredible roster of stage curators for 2023. These curators will showcase their unique sounds and curatorial expertise, enhancing the diversity and creativity of the festival. The stage curators for Electric Zoo 2023 include:

“Under Construction” (Festival debut) by Fisher & Chris Lake: These two powerhouse DJs are showcasing the festival debut of their wildly popular brand Under Construction, accompanied by a riveting lineup of their favorite acts, promising high-energy beats and infectious grooves.

“Everything Always” (World debut) by John Summit & Dom Dolla: Returning after their memorable performances last year, this dynamic duo debuts their new brand, Everything Always on stage, captivating fans with their innovative sound on this thrilling new concept.

Dreamland, presented by Jake Resnicow: In response to the growing demand for inclusivity and representation, Electric Zoo is proud to unveil its inaugural LGBTQ stage. Resnicow noted as one of ‘The OUT100 Most Influential LGBTQ People’, has presented some of the world’s biggest ticketed LGBTQ celebrations headlined by top musical artists like Janet Jackson and Katy Perry. This dedicated stage will feature an array of talented artists, offering a platform for their unique voices and celebrating the rich diversity within the music industry. 

Liquid Stranger presents: Wakaan Takeover: Liquid Stranger, known for his forward-thinking and boundary-pushing sound, has garnered a dedicated fanbase around his Wakaan imprint and has become a driving force in the bass music scene. Under his visionary curation, the Wakaan Takeover at Electric Zoo will bring together a diverse lineup of artists who are at the forefront of the genre.

Cityfox & Gray Area Present Megafox  – A Festival within a festival : Electric Zoo presents a mini-festival within the festival as Cityfox and Gray Area team up to deliver an all new immersive experience fifth stage. With a rich history spanning over a decade, Cityfox has become synonymous with enthralling events and unforgettable moments at iconic venues such as Avant Gardner and Brooklyn Mirage. Renowned for their heavyweight underground lineups, and paired with the eclectic taste of Gray Area, they both will curate a sonic journey into the underground like none other. 

Nora En Pure’s Purified: Join Nora En Pure on a sonic journey as she curates a stage dedicated to the finest melodic and deep house sounds. Get ready to be swept away to a world of pure bliss and euphoria.
