Chris Bednarik of Slovakia chatted about competing in the forthcoming 2024 Mister Universe pageant, where he is representing his country Slovakia.

Mahatma Gandhi once said: “Learn as if you will live forever, live like you will die tomorrow.” Chris Bednarik embodies this wise quote.

Mister Universe competition

The Mister Universe finals will be held from December 15th to the 22nd in Los Angeles, California.

On competing for Mr. Universe, Bendarik said, “Honestly, this is a dream come true for me. As a little boy, I wanted to become a professional athlete and a model.”

“I wanted to represent my country. In sport, this dream came true, and I had the honor of representing Slovakia at the European and World Championships. Now, a few years later, I will carry the Slovakian flag at such a prestigious competition. I am very grateful for that,” he exclaimed.

Advocacy

On his advocacy for Mr. Universe, he shared, “I really enjoy motivating and encouraging people to pursue their dreams with total resolve and confidence. Many people don’t believe in themselves at all, and this is a problem. I want to give them motivation to believe in themselves more, not to listen to negative talk, and most importantly, to stop worrying about what others think of them.”

Daily motivations

Regarding his daily motivations, he revealed, “I have my idols who motivate me to work harder on myself. Not only physically, but also spiritually, to become a better person.”

On his future plans, he stated, “Honestly, I like to keep my future plans to myself. I want people to see the results, not just empty words. But in response to this question, I would just like to tell others — Think big, set big goals, because you’ll never get higher than the way you think.”

For hopefuls that wish to go into fitness, wrestling or content creation, Bednarik said, “Muhammad Ali said it best, I hated every minute of training, but I said to myself – Don’t quit, suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.’ His words are very motivating for me. Let these words help everyone who is working hard on their dreams.”

The digital age

On being a part of the digital age, he said, “Personally, I see it as a great opportunity. Many people can make money online and work on things they truly enjoy. But the internet definitely has its downsides as well.”

“Social media is becoming more and more addictive, and often we just waste time there when we could be doing much more meaningful things,” he added.

Success

On his definition of the word success, Bednarik said, “Success for me means fulfilling my own dreams. Success means something different for everyone. Someone may want to have a healthy and happy family. An athlete wants to become a world champion or an Olympic winner. A businessman wants to build a large and profitable company. Each of us can become successful.”
