Tyler McAfee catches up with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about his latest endeavors, which include competing for the 2024 Mister USA pageant next month.
McAfee is representing the state of Ohio. The Mister USA finals will take place on August 31st at The Shrine in Los Angeles, California. Mister USA is an American beauty competition, which is held annually, and the winner goes on to represent the United States in the “Mister Universe” pageant. It is a celebration of culture, diversity, beauty, intelligence, and empowerment. It is not solely about outer beauty; it recognizes the inner beauty and intelligence of their contestants.
“I am stocked for the whole pageant of course,” McAfee exclaimed. “Seeing my close friends that I stay in touch with over social media, is going to be so great to catch up with them. The photoshoots, and meeting other likeminded individuals and hearing their stories is also going to be a great time.”
“The message that I want to convey with Mister USA is that I will appreciate each and every day of this event,” he said. “I will of course bring my best physique and positive energy. Whoever wins, I will be cheering on for a memorable event. Looking forward to live in the moment and cherish this opportunity.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, McAfee relocated to Florida. “Moving to Florida has been a smooth transition,” he admitted. “It has always felt like home to me ever since I’ve visited. The heat is a little much at times but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I’m forever grateful to have been able to make the move.”
On his latest projects, he remarked, “I recently just completed a commercial project with Disney. Being on set with such genuine and passionate people is always the best environment to be in. I was happily invited to work with Forge Films for another project that is currently in the making.”
When asked where he sees himself in the next five years, he said, “There is so much I’d like to accomplish by then. But I’d love to be working full time in the modeling and acting industry. While also co-owning a restaurant or company.”
On the best advice that he has ever been given, he shared, “Activity breeds success. The more you put into life, the more you’ll get in return. I truly believe that goes for anything in life.”
He revealed that his mantra in life is the following: “Failure should be our teacher, not our undertaker.”
McAfee went on to express his appreciation for his fans and supporters. “Thank you so much for following my journey and being by my side along this pivoting rollercoaster,” he said. “You’ve seen all the ups and downs. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for watching and being there for me.”
