Celebrity bodyguard Bubba Almony chatted with True Hollywood Talk’s Markos Papadatos about his upcoming Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award.
I’ll be honored with a Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award the highest Volunteer honor from President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on Sunday, December 4th in Houston, Texas,” he said. “I will also be receiving Congressional recognition from Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee at the award ceremony. I’m the first bodyguard in American history to be bestowed with these highly prestigious honors!”
Almony elaborated, “I’m being honored for my over 4,000 hours of community service, outstanding leadership, and outstanding volunteer accomplishments. The 3rd annual award ceremony will be presented by US Air Force Veteran Dr. Sonia White who hosted the first documented historic event in Houston, Texas. Miss Houston Samantha Havenstrite will be assisting in presenting the awards to honorees. ‘The Greatest’ Muhammad Ali’s former Wife Dr. Khalilah Camacho-Ali and United States Air Force Hall of Fame inductee Sheila L. Chamberlain will also be among those honored.”
On his daily motivations, Almony said, “I’m motivated each day by the ability to make a difference in people’s lives. By not only keeping my clients safe but being the best leader I can be in their life! Deciding who will protect you is the biggest decision you will make in life. I’m motivated to one day completely eradicate bullying!”
Regarding his proudest moments in his bodyguard career, he said, “Having been endorsed by Muhammad Ali’s former Wife Dr. Khalilah Camacho-Ali as ‘The Greatest’ Bodyguard ever, being featured on Google’s list of top Bodyguards in the World and being the first bodyguard in American history to receive a Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award and Congressional recognition.”
On his future goals and plans, he said, “My future plans include continuing to speak to kids and teens across the nation about bullying with Dr. Khalilah Ali, continuing to build my Bodyguard legacy, and continuing to volunteer in communities!”
My favorite motto to live by is: “God is my Bodyguard!” “He is yours too! He keeps us all safe and looks after us 24/7 365 days a year,” he said, opening up about his faith.
“I want to wish everyone a Happy and safe Halloween,” he said. “Today/ may be the last day in the Month of October for Bullying Prevention Month but let’s make every day a bully-free day! Be an upstander if you witness bullying don’t be a bystander.”
