The Australian firefighters will have an event at Ekka to preview their 2023 Calendar, which helps charitable causes, and fans can meet the firefighters featured in the calendar. The #Powerjouranlist has the scoop.
From its humble beginnings, the Australian Firefighters Calendar was established back in 1993 to help and support the Children’s Hospital Foundation, providing funds for research into childhood burns. For over 28 years, the Australian Firefighters Calendar has raised over $3.2 million for various charities.
The Ekka is Queensland’s largest annual event and a good chance throughout the year to find out what life on the farm is really about.
“After two years of closures it’s finally Brisbane’s Ekka time again,” the Australia Firefighters exclaimed in a post on social media.
“Make sure you get there for your first chance to buy the Australian Firefighters 2023 Calendars,” they elaborated in their Instagram post. “Some of our amazing firefighters who appear in them are flying in from all around Australia. Check out the dates below to see which days your favourites will be there! We look forward to seeing you all again!”
The calendar donates to the Australian Childrenʼs Hospital Foundation, the Childrenʼs Hospital at Westmead, the Sydney Childrenʼs Hospital Foundation burns units, the Starlight Childrenʼs Foundation, Mates For Mates, Royal Far West and the Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors.
The Royal Children’s Hospital Burns Centre encompasses the Burns Research Group and is the largest paediatric burns centre in Australasia. The centre treats children from all over Queensland, Northern New South Wales, Victoria and the Pacific Islands.
