Mozart of the Chippendales sat down and chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos prior to their Sunday, April 13th show at The Paramount in Huntington on Long Island.
The Paramount
On being back at The Paramount, Mozart said, “It feels great; one more time and one more show over here in Huntington. It’s incredible. I’ve been here so many times.”
“Tonight, there will be music, and good stuff coming through,” he noted. “Good guitar solos, good singing, and new acts. We have a new opening and a new finale.”
“Honestly, The Paramount has the best Speakeasy in the world, The Founder’s Room. That is one of the coolest places, for sure,” he said, complimenting the venue. “If people don’t know it, then they should check it out.”
On being back with The Chippendales, he said, “It feels refreshing, especially after COVID, for sure. Things were getting static with no movement in the world and no movement anywhere, so it’s good to come back and move.”
Mozart noted that he was living in New York but he recently moved to Las Vegas.
The digital age
On being a part of the digital age, Mozart said, “It feels new. It’s a new world. Everything is different. We just need to adjust. The accessibility aspect of it is great because you can reach fans all over the world.”
“The fans are always great, and they are always growing in different places in the United States. I am very happy to be back. They bring good energy so it’s always exciting,” he added.
Career-defining moments
When asked about his career-defining moments, he responded, “You can’t define me. I am unexplainable. We all are. We are forever changing, forever moving, forever leaving and forever coming back.”
Advice for young and aspiring performers
For young and emerging performers, he said, “Don’t keep your dreams, dreams. If it wasn’t a gift from God, you wouldn’t dream about it. That’s why they come to you, so make your dreams happen.”
Stage of his life
On the title of the current chapter of his life, Mozart said, “Making It.”
Best advice ever been given
On the best advice he has ever been given, he revealed, “Don’t speak too much.”
Best thing about being his age
On the best thing about being his age, he said, “I understand younger people and I understand older people.”
Favorite motto to live by
His favorite motto to live by is “to be like water.”
Superpower of choice
His superpower of choice would be “healing.”
Success
Mozart defined the word success simply as “peace and evolution” in his life.
