On Wednesday, April 2nd, Burgerology in Stony Brook hosted an Autism Awareness event, which raised money for charities.

Organizers raised more than $5,000 for “Rise Life Services” through a silent auction and food sales. This philanthropic event supports people with intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges Their goal was to raise “$2,000,” and it is safe to say that they surpassed that goal.

Sparky, the New York Islanders mascot, was there, and News 12 was on location too. The event featured a Chinese auction, live music, and a special milkshake, among other exciting functions.

Regarding this event, Burgerology owner Georgia Galatoulas remarked, “Autism Awareness is deeply personal to me because my nephew is autistic. I have witnessed firsthand the triumphs and the challenges that come with it.”

“This fundraiser is not just an event; it s a way to give back to support an amazing organization like Rise Life Services and to bring people together, to understand and accept it,” Galatoulas acknowledged.

“Every dollar raised, every conversation had, and every moment shared tonight, helps create a more inclusive world for individuals with autism and their families, “Galatoulas added.
