Olympic and world champion swimmer Ryan Murphy has a major reason to celebrate. He and his wife, Bridget, welcomed their new baby girl into the world, and that’s the biggest and brightest gold medal they have earned in their lives.

The couple made the announcement via a joint post on social media. “Family of 3! Eevi Lillian Murphy came into the world on 1/24/25 – 9lb 8oz, 22 in A name of Finnish origin meaning ‘life’,” Murphy exclaimed.

“2024 was a loaded year,” he recalled. “From another Olympics, finding out I’ll be a dad, buying a first home, opening a business…much to celebrate and be thankful for.”

At the Paris Olympics, after he won an Olympic bronze medal in the men’s 100 meter backstroke race, his wife revealed in a sign the gender of their baby was going to be a girl.

In addition, Murphy is the co-Owner of the Goldfish Swim School in St. Johns along with his parents, Katy and Pat Murphy. He has been an ambassador of the Goldfish Swim School since 2019.

Congratulations to Ryan and Bridget on their new miracle, and we wish them all best wishes.
