World-renowned songwriter Diane Warren should win the coveted Academy Award for “Best Original Song” for “The Journey.” #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.
It is one of her best-written songs in years, and after 16 career Oscar nominations, her time has finally come to win her first-ever competitive Oscar. The song is performed by H.E.R., and it is featured in Tyler Perry’s “The Six Triple Eight” on Netflix.
Ms. Warren is a perennial nominee in this category, which proves that she is perhaps the most respected working songwriter in the industry.
She is nominated alongside such songs as “Never Too Late” (Elton John: Never Too Late), “El Mal” and “Mi Camino” (both of which are from “Emilia Perez) and “Like a Bird” from “Sing Sing.” If the two “Emilia Perez” songs split the vote, then that would be good news for Diane Warren, and she may finally reign supreme.
Hopefully, this will be the song that will help her secure Oscar gold! She is more than deserving of this prestigious accolade. If the art of songwriting had a leading lady, Diane Warren would be the Queen!
