The 117th Millrose Games, the most celebrated indoor track & field event in the world, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 8th. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.

As always, organizers have assembled deep fields that include Olympians, global medalists, and national record holders, as the best of the best will be competing in New York City.

The Millrose Games will be held at the Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory, known as ‘The Fastest Track in the World’ due to the number of records that have been set at this facility. Two world records were set at the Millrose Games in 2024, and meet coordinators have announced an additional $25,000 bonus for any athlete who breaks a world record this year, on top of the Millrose Games prize purse.

One athlete who has announced that he will be targeting a world record is Brandon Miller, a 2024 Olympian in the 800m. Miller will be chasing Donavan Brazier’s mark of 1:13.77 in the Men’s 600m. He will face off against another 800m Olympian in Isaiah Jewett, as well as high school phenom and Olympic gold medalist Quincy Wilson, the world junior record holder in the 400m.

Other mouth-watering matchups and athletes already announced for the 117th Millrose Games include:

-An absolutely stacked Women’s 60m Hurdles that includes Olympic champion Masai Russell, defending champion and world record holder Devynne Charlton, NCAA champion Grace Stark, US indoor champion Tia Jones, Olympic finalist Alaysha Johnson, and Jamaican record holder Ackera Nugent.

-The Men’s 3000m will be a showdown between Olympic 1500m champion Cole Hocker and two-time Olympic bronze medalist and four-time US record holder Grant Fisher.

-Three-time Olympic/World Championships gold medalist Katie Moon headlines the Women’s Pole Vault

-Olympic silver medalist Daniel Roberts looks to ascend to the top of the podium in the Men’s 60m Hurdles.

The program will conclude with the running of the iconic NYRR Wanamaker Miles, and both races will feature the reigning Olympic silver and bronze medalists in the 1500m. Australia’s Jess Hull will square off against Great Britain’s Georgia Bell in the women’s race, while US Olympians Nikki Hiltz and Emily Mackay will look to upset the two medalists.

On the men’s side, American record holder Yared Nuguse is going for his third straight Wanamaker title, but he will face his toughest challenge yet in Josh Kerr, the defending world champion and two mile world record holder who edged out Nuguse for Olympic silver. Hobbs Kessler, who was fifth in the historically fast Paris final, will also factor in the NYRR Men’s Wanamaker Mile.

Stay tuned over the coming weeks, as many more world-class athletes and events are still to be announced. The Millrose Games is a World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meet. With highest-level competition at the youth, high school, collegiate, club, and professional levels, there is truly something for everyone at the 117th Millrose Games.
