Chatting with Kendall Jo: Recording artist and Mr. Texas in the 2024 Mister USA

Kendall Jo is a recording artist and he is representing Texas in the 2024 Mister USA pageant. He chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about being a part of this inaugural competition, and shared his future plans.

“Superman” actor Christopher Reeve once said: “So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable.” This applies to Kendall Jo.

Kendall on being a part of the inaugural Mister USA

“It is my privilege to be part of the first official Mister USA pageant,” he exclaimed. “I’m excited to meet the members of the organization and other contestants taking part in the exciting journey ahead. I know there are many beautiful memories in store.”

Mister USA is an American beauty pageant, which is held annually, and the winner goes on to represent the United States in the Mister Universe competition. It is a celebration of culture, diversity, beauty, intelligence and empowerment. They believe in the power of young leaders to make a difference in the world. It is not solely about outer beauty; it recognizes the inner beauty and intelligence of their contestants.

The finals will be held on August 11, 2024 in Hollywood. The winner of Mister USA will subsequently represent USA at “Mister Universe” competition in mid-September.

Kendall on representing the state of Texas

Kendall opened up about his connection to the state of Texas. “I do have a strong connection to the ‘Friendship State,’ especially since I was born and raised in Texas,” he said. “It’s a special feeling to be representing my roots and making my family and friends back home proud. So yes, I am very excited and honored.”

Kendall on his daily motivations

Regarding his daily motivations, he revealed, “Experiencing my senses, emotions and the precious connections to the energy of Source, Earth and the people who live here is motivation enough to live everyday as a gift and make the most of it.”

His plans for the future: To continue making more music

On his future plans, Kendall remarked, “My future is very centered around doing what I love, which is making music.”

“I plan to find the people and resources needed to aid me in launching an artist career with which I can share my creativity, influence and vision with the world,” he said.

“Although I try to remain as present and patient as possible, I’d like to imagine that in five years I will be doing a world tour following the release of various albums that have made a strong impression within pop culture and have granted me a substantial audience,” he added.

Kendall on participating in the 2024 WeHo Pride Parade

Kendall was thrilled to participate in the 2024 WeHo Pride Parade “Mister Universe” float along with Eric Stanton Betts, Riley Hedstrom, and Jino Carnwath Cabrera.

“I was so impressed with the warm inclusive vibrations of the whole pride parade and its participants,” he said. “The day was filled with magical moments, and it was inspiring to see everyone together standing up for unification and respect for human rights. Also, Eric, Riley, Jino and the rest of the Mister USA team that I met there were a delight and significantly added to this rewarding experience.”

Kendall’s favorite motto to live by

On his favorite motto to live by, he stated, “Trust the process.”

“Life has thrown me rewards, challenges and a few disappointments; however, the growth and knowledge I have obtained along the way would not have been possible if events didn’t unfold as they were supposed to. So I remember to trust the process, my faith, and always in myself,” he explained.

Kendall on success

Regarding his definition of the word success, he shared, “Success to me is absorbing all of what life has taught me, applying it to my path, and leaving a legacy of love with impactful service to others.”

Kendall’s final thoughts on the Mister USA pageantry

For his fans and supporters, he remarked about “Mister USA,” “I want people to know that pageantry is about inspiring others to be their best individual selves. The beauty aspect of this competition is both internal and external. I believe this will be a great opportunity for more growth and to showcase the strong sense of self that I have developed over the years including my aesthetic, personality and point of view.”

“If there is one thing I want the people tuning into the pageant to know its my mission statement: My mission is based on a selfless vision for a brighter future that everyone can share, but as I make moves to improve the world we live in, the support of the people is a necessity that will never go overlooked or underappreciated,” he concluded.
