“A Cowboy Christmas Romance” is one of the best Lifetime holiday movies of 2023. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.
The movie was directed by Jake Helgren from a screenplay by Sarah Drew. It stars Jana Kramer and Adam Senn, as well as Max Ehrich, among many other talented actors.
The story is set on an Arizona ranch and it finds real estate closer Lexie Crenshaw (Jana Kramer) reluctantly returning to her hometown of Tubac, one week prior to Christmas for a work trip.
Back on the range, Lexie must convince Coby Mason (played by Adam Senn), a horse-whispering rancher, to part ways with his family’s land, while navigating her relationship with her father Harrison (Bruce Thomas) and brothers she left behind, leading her to reconsider the life she gave up a decade ago.
While the movie may have gotten some minor controversy due to a steamy “sex scene,” it should not be defined by that because it was sharply written by Sarah Drew, and it showcases the importance of family and relationships, especially around Christmastime. It is realistic, heartfelt and a feel-good story. It deserves to be enjoyed for its beauty and sincerity.
Jake Helgren is not afraid to push the boundaries, while Jana Kramer, Adam Senn, and Max Ehrich (who also contributed the song “All I Want is You” to this project) all give dynamic acting performances.
