Actor Colton Little of “Days of our Lives” chatted with #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos about his new Hallmark film “A Biltmore Christmas.”

“I felt like I manifested this opportunity,” he exclaimed. “For as long as I can remember I have been a fan of classic films and actors, so to get to step back into 1947 and bring some holiday magic to life left me speechless. Every day on set felt like I was dreaming! We filmed on lavishly decorated locations around the iconic Biltmore Estate in North Carolina in detailed period costumes. The script was such a well layered and unique take on the oft-used trope of the time travel love story and the twist ending will leave viewers in happy tears.”

He was drawn to his character for several reasons. “Claude Lancaster is his name and manipulation is his game. He’s like the best and worst parts of Brian Donlevy, Errol Flynn, and Clark Gable combined. He’s self-assured and yet entirely paranoid. He’s all bark, and yet crumbles to authority. Claude really was a blast to bring to life and I hope he brings some laughs to audiences,” he said.

Little had great words about working with Kristoffer Polaha and Bethany Joy Lenz. “Kristoffer and Bethany Joy were both fantastic to work with!” he exclaimed. “I love Kris and he really took me under his wing, rehearsing and working to make our scenes the best they could be. I truly feel like I gained a family on this picture and can’t wait for everyone to see my costar Annabelle Borke as well!”

He also opened up about playing Andrew Donovan on “Days of Our Lives.” “Working on Days of Our Lives is always such a privilege. The entire team there is like one big family, so it makes dipping in and out of the show feel easy. Bringing to life agent Andrew Donovan is so much fun and I hope he has many years of adventures to come!” he exclaimed.

Little praised his luminous acting partner Christopher Sean. “Christopher is a pure delight. If it weren’t for him, my experience on Days would be completely different. He really made sure I knew the ropes when I first started and I’ll always be grateful for his guidance. He’s such a pro and I love the chemistry we have on screen together,” he said.

On his plans for the future, Little said, “Right now, I’m just grateful that the SAG-AFTRA strike is over! I am pleased to be getting back to auditioning and working. In addition to acting, I am doing some writing on a few projects which I hope to direct in the future. Directing is a passion of mine which I discovered on a short film called “Phases” during the pandemic. Additionally, during the filming of A Biltmore Christmas, director John Putch allowed me to shadow on my days off. Picking his brain was incredibly insightful.”

This March, he will be a part of the Spectrum Celebrity Events “Daytime Pride” fan event in Maryland. “I am always thrilled to be part of events that bring fan’s favorite shows to life! I love the guys at Spectrum events and am especially excited to be alongside such other fantastic talent! Mike Manning and I recently joked that our social and work circles are so intertwined, yet this will be our first time actually getting to work and spend time together,” he said.

Little concluded about “A Biltmore Christmas, “I’m a believer in magic. Like, real, tingly, feel it in your bones magic. I think ‘A Biltmore Christmas’ brings that feeling to life. I hope audiences rediscover magic in the world again after watching our movie.”
