American swimmer Carson Foster has a major reason to be proud. He won the silver medal at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships that were help in Fukuoka, Japan. #Powerjournalist Markos Papadatos has the recap.
In the men’s 400 meter individual medley (IM) race, Foster finished in second place with a time of 4:06.56, which ties his personal best. Frenchman Leon Marchard won first place with a time of 4:02.50, where he shattered Michael Phelps’ final world record of 4:03.84; this time has stood for August of 2008 (and Phelps held the world records in the 400 meter IM race since August of 2002).
On this swim, Foster remarked, “It is always good to get on the podium. It’s always the goal. I’ve been practicing going in with no expectations and letting my body do the work. I’m happy with silver.”
Foster swims for the University of Texas at Austin, where he represents the Texas Longhorns under the iconic head swimming coach Eddie Reese.
Hopefully, this silver medal for Carson Foster is a harbinger of more great successes at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships in Japan.
