Five-time Olympic medalist and former professional swimmer Josh Davis belongs in the International Swimming Hall of Fame. #Powerjouranlist Markos Papadatos has the scoop.

Davis represented the United States at two consecutive Summer Olympiads. won three gold medals for Team USA at the 1996 Olympic Games that were held in Atlanta, Georgia, and two silver medals in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia. He specialized in the relay races, especially the freestyle.

A proud Texas Longhorn, Davis attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he swam under the guidance of the iconic swimming coach Eddie Reese.

He is very respected and admired in the sport. He is regarded as a moral guardian and a mentor among his peers in aquatics, and he serves as a tremendous role model for the youth and the future generations of the sport.

Similar to swimming icon Rowdy Gaines, Davis is a great ambassador who is constantly continuing to change, grow, and promote the sport of swimming. Davis has revolutionized the sport thanks to his ever-popular “Ultimate Swimmer” Camps and Clinics, and he has done the most swim clinics for the children and youth out there. His work ethic and energy level is an inspiration to us all.

He leads by example, and he and his wife, Shantel, live in Oklahoma, and they have six children.

Davis is always there to lend a helping hand to the USA Swimming Foundation, whose goal is to save lives and build champions.

He also hosts “The Ultimate Swimmer Podcast,” which offers a holistic approach to the sport of swimming; building stronger hearts, minds, and bodies. Training swimmers to be champions in and out of the water. His podcast episodes are available by clicking here.

Nobody deserves this honor and recognition more than Josh Davis, and it is long overdue. Hopefully, this glaring omission will be rectified, and Davis will be inducted in an International Swimming Hall of Fame ceremony in the near future.
